Greetings to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Thank you for visiting Mount Olive Lutheran Church on the Web! If you live in the Houston area, I want to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to worship with us. You will find a warm and friendly welcome waiting for you each time you visit. As a part of our worship experience, I work to provide a timely message from the Word of God that you can use in your daily life. We want you to feel right at home among us. We would consider it a special privilege to share with you the riches of Jesus Christ and His Word.

There are many exciting things happening at Mount Olive, as we grow together from a small congregation to one that is much larger. We invite you to share in the life of our congregation, and grow with us as our Lord Jesus Christ draws us to Himself.

God's Richest Blessings in Christ!

Randy W. Ledbetter, Pastor

Russell Strimple - 7/12/2009 - 4:00pm

Russell will be ordained at Mount Olive on July 12th at 4 pm in the afternoon. As you know Russell graduated from our seminary, Concordia Seminary in St Louis. He has been called to be Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi.

Our Associate Pastor, Robert Sweet will be the liturgist for the service on July 12th; Pastor Matthew Brackman, Peace, Texas City will be the preacher, and Pastor Alan Taylor will officiate the Ordination into the Office of Holy Ministry for Russell.

On the following Sunday, July 19th, Pastor Strimple will be installed at his new church, in Corpus Christi. Pastor Ledbetter will be the preacher. If anyone would like to go to Corpus on the 19th for the Installation, they are welcome to travel with us, or travel in a caravan. Please let me know of your plans. We will leave after the second service. I believe the journey will be about 3 hours.

Elaine and the Family Life Committee are planning the evening dinner which follows in Russell's honor. Ginny Trout will serve as our caterer for this occasion.

We will be inviting the local pastors from the Houston area to participate. We need you to be present! It will be important for everyone to come and enjoy the activities.
